Make Savannah has partnered with Savannah Philharmonic as the single premium merchandise retailer for Picnic in the Park and is currently seeking maker applications to exhibit during Savannah’s largest outdoor cultural event of the year. In celebration of the orchestra's tenth anniversary, 10 makers will be exclusively selected to sell products to the annual event’s nearly 20,000 attendees.
Picnic in the Park, presented and produced by Savannah Philharmonic, will be held on Sunday, October 7 with vendor sales beginning at 3 p.m.
“We are honored to be the only merchandise retailer for one of Savannah’s most anticipated events,” said Rebekah Lingenfelser, Director of Communications for Clark Creative Communications. “This event will showcase the very best selection of makers Savannah has to offer, while providing attendees with an opportunity to shop high-end, uniquely crafted goods that make Savannah unlike anywhere else.”
Makers are entrepreneurs, craftsmen, artisans, photographers, writers, chefs, collectors and designers with a local product. To qualify for selection, products must be handmade or innovated in the Savannah community. Applications are accepted from a broad range of product categories including custom jewelry, high quality craft and handmade items, food and beverage goods, tools, furniture and home accessories, illustrations and more. Makers are selected based on the following product differentiators:
Local connectedness
Quality
Uniqueness
Marketability
Reputation
Online and social media presence favorable, but not required
A fee is required to participate and includes premium membership benefits for one full year. To apply, applicants must complete an online application and send product photos to info@makesavannah.com, with the subject line Picnic in the Park. The deadline to apply is Friday, September 28.
