SUTHINGIRL

Born under moss-draped live oaks in Savannah and raised on a Lowcountry island surrounded by azaleas and saltwater marshes, I grew up at the heels of three generations of colorful, charismatic entrepreneurs. A diploma from the University of Georgia in hand, I answered the siren's call of the big city and moved to Atlanta to pursue a Masters of Communications and embark upon an adventure in public relations, working with some of Atlanta's most recognizable brands. My next leap was Ashley Sparks Communications, a marketing and events company serving clients across the country. Three kids and two decades later, I've come full circle to my family roots, promoting southern makers and entrepreneurs through SUTHINGIRL, one of the South's most celebrated lifestyle brands, and the SUTHINGIRL Box, a seasonal selection of southern style featuring chic southern makers and brands.

I believe it's always a good idea to throw a party, and delight in hosting the most elegant (and downright fun) fundraising events for SCAD, Canine Assistants and others throughout the South.

We collaborated with designer Steve McKenzie and a team of the finest southern makers, artists and brands to reimagine our family home and showcase the design talent in the South.

my personal motto is

“In the South, all our backyards touch.” This is one of my favorite expressions about the way we as southerners embrace community. Share the good times. Help others whenever you can. Be kind.

What makes savannah for you?

The feeling of being surrounded by generations of family, past and present. I’ve been very fortunate to travel the world, yet each time I return to Savannah I’m embraced by a sense of pride and place. This is home. My body knows it to a cellular level. From marsh grass to monuments, Savannah sparkles with the magic of memories and adventures yet to come.
